Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 26, 2026
Swami Tours ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect — including your name, phone number, and an image of a government ID proof, collected as a standard safety and verification practice for outstation and pilgrimage bookings — when you book our local cab, outstation, or pilgrimage tour services, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following information when you contact or book with us:
- Your name and phone number, collected for every booking
- A photograph or scanned image of a government-issued ID proof (such as Aadhaar, PAN, voter ID, or driving licence), particularly for outstation and multi-day pilgrimage bookings. We collect this as a standard safety and verification practice in the travel and cab industry — so that a record of who travelled exists if it is ever needed for passenger safety, to assist law enforcement in the rare event of an incident, or to cooperate with local authorities during interstate checks. We retain the image as provided and do not separately extract, key in, or database your ID number.
- Your email address, only if you choose to log in, register, or contact us via email
- Pickup and drop locations, travel dates, and itinerary preferences
- Payment details necessary to process your booking (we do not store full card details)
- Communications you send us via phone, email, or our website contact form
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Confirm and manage your bookings and itineraries
- Coordinate pickup, drop, and driver assignment
- Verify your identity using the ID proof image you provide, particularly for outstation and multi-day pilgrimage bookings, as a safety and accountability measure for both you and our driver
- Send booking confirmations, updates, or invoices
- Respond to enquiries and customer support requests
- Improve our services based on customer feedback
By providing your name, phone number, and ID proof image at the time of booking, you consent to our collecting and using this information for the purposes described in this policy, including maintaining a safety record for outstation and pilgrimage trips and cooperating with law enforcement where required. Where we wish to use your information for a different purpose, such as promotional communication, we will ask for your consent separately or give you the opportunity to opt out.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Sharing of Information
We may share limited booking details (such as your name, phone number, and pickup/drop location) with the driver assigned to your trip, solely for the purpose of completing your journey. We may also share your information, including your ID proof image, with the police or other authorities where required by law or in connection with a genuine safety or security enquiry — for example, if a driver or vehicle is called in for questioning about a trip and needs to be able to identify who was transported.
We may use third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and mapping/navigation services, to help us process payments and plan routes. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are subject to their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
4. Data Retention
We retain booking and contact information for as long as necessary to fulfill your trip, respond to any follow-up queries, and maintain basic business records as required by applicable law. The ID proof image collected for safety and verification purposes is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the booking and any related record-keeping requirement, after which it is securely deleted or archived.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. Access to sensitive information such as your ID proof image is restricted to authorized personnel who need it for safety and verification purposes. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information — including your ID proof image, once it is no longer reasonably needed for the purposes described above — by contacting us using the details below. You may also opt out of promotional communications, whether by phone, SMS, or email, at any time.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
8. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please contact us at [email protected] or call +91 93243 78802.
